Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Bhubaneswar

Upon arrival at Bhubaneswar airport, meet our tour representative who will assist you to transfer to the hotel. Complete the check-in formalities and freshenup. Later on, get ready for a sightseeing tour and visit the Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves. Partly natural and partly artificial, the caves enjoy popularity for their religious, archaeological and historical importance. After this, you will be visiting the Lingaraja temple. The thousand-year-old spectacular specimen of Hindu architecture is truly stunning. Counted as one of the most revered places, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Post sightseeing return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Bhubaneswar – Konark – Puri

After a hearty breakfast, check-out of the hotel and proceed to Konark. The paranormal town is home to the renowned Sun Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dedicated to the Sun God, the colossal chariot shaped temple is an architectural marvel. Thereafter, you will visit the Chandrabhaga beach. Earlier it had been thought as the place of natural cure for lepers. After the Konark sightseeing, head towards Puri. Complete the check-in formalities and freshen up quickly to visit the Puri Jagannath temple and the Gundicha temple. The former of the two is one of the holy places for Hindus because it is reckoned as one of the divine Char Dhams. Later, you will be taken to the Gundicha temple. Day 3: Puri – Chilika – Puri

Spend the rest of the day leisurely exploring the wetland. Post this, you will return to Puri and stay overnight.

Day 4: Puri – Pipili – Dhauli – Bhubaneswar

Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast in the hotel and check-out. This is followed by a road trip to Bhubaneswar. There will be a halt en-route at Pipili. The small town is home to Brilliant artisans who are popular for designing beautiful Applique handicrafts and colorful fabric. You are free to buy these remarkable fabrics as a souvenir. Next halt will be at Dhauli hills where Kalinga war is believed to be fought. Nestled on the banks of River Daya, the hill holds major edicts of Emperor Ashoka inscribed on the mass of rock. It is said the blood of deceased turned the river red during the war, which turned the heart of the Emperor to realize the harm associated with the war. In his redemption, he embraced Buddhism and built many stupas, chaityas and pillars here. Post this, proceed to Bhubneswar and check-in at the hotel upon arrival. Rest of the time is free on your own. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5: Departure from Bhubaneswar

On the last day of the Heritage tour of Orissa you will be comfortably transferred to the airport once you are done with your breakfast.
